Stanley Dishon quietly told Nelson Circuit Judge Charles Sims that he was guilty of the murder of Jessica and four counts of rape, incest and bestiality. In March 2015, he was convicted.
During his guilty plea in Bardstown, Dishon did not speak much, simply answering questions and nodding in agreement with his guilt.
Not only that, he was told he had the right to stand trial; Stanley told Sims, “I don’t want to go to court; I want to accept the deal that was offered,” he stopped to speak with one of his attorneys, Jennifer Wittmeier Talk briefly. Defense attorneys declined to comment after the hearing.
Jessica’s mother Edna Deschamps has been in court for years. Before and during the hearing, she cried and hugged her family. She sat next to Jessica’s father, Mike Deschamp. Her parents are no longer married and are sitting in court together.
